The problem with most technical equipment these days is that it is made to be disposable. In the last number of years, I have gone through many many phones. Some have lasted me as long as a year; most have lasted only a few months. Producers make their models weak and inferior to old Nokia phones made in the past because they want us to buy the new best thing when they come out and I hate that. Phones used to have so much physical strength in them- they were called bricks for a reason. You could throw them down a flight of stairs and you would still be able to use them without hassle. With today’s fancy phones, physical strength isn’t a need or want at all, it seems. Drop a modern day phone on a soft mattress and it will probably crack the screen in two. It is ridiculous. When my last phone broke, a stupid new model with a ton of apps I wanted that got its screen cracked in a wet week, I swore that the latest phone would be the last- that if this one broke I would go back to basics and forget about fancy programs. My newest phone that I bought is an Acer Cloud Mobile.

On first inspection, this phone looked like my previous one in many ways. It looked decent enough and fancy enough to have cool, abilities, but I didn’t see anything outstanding or amazing about its appearance first off. To be honest, I bought it because it was thicker and less frail looking than most other smartphones on the market I could see. It looked a little sturdier, like it wouldn’t smash to pieces first time I dropped it. I’m sure that was a downside to most people, but it was an upside to me. The fact that it was white and had no home button put me off a little. White things are awfully hard to keep clean and I always found home buttons handier than fiddly touch screens, but I digress.

Upon closer inspection, I found more things I like about this phone. One, it has a whole gigabyte of RAM on it, which is great when you are using it long term. Another thing I noticed was that it was very speedy. It could load whole web browsers and applications in a matter of seconds while any other phone I had would take a few moments at least. There are many good apps available to download on to it from the Google apps store; even more than I previously expected. All these things are a plus to me. It also has a great screen resolution, which doesn’t matter much to me but may be a major factor for others.

All in all, I’ve had this phone a while now and it doesn’t show any signs of breaking on me yet which is the best sign I’ve had in a long while. I definitely recommend checking this out if you’re looking to switch your phone for something better!
